North End Ski Club Presents 2018/19 Masters Cross Country Ski Clinics

Seven sessions of technique, training, and coaching in both classic and skate skiing with CXC/USSA Certified Level 200 Coach Mike Mandli, Level 100 Coaches Chris McGrath, Cindi McGrath, and Jane Mandli. All fees will go directly to the North End Ski Club’s trail fund.

On snow sessions held at the Samuel C Johnson Family Outdoor Center (SCJC) at the OO Trailhead and at the North End Cabin, 12:00 PM on Thursdays. The first session is on Thursday, December 27, 12:00 PM, at the Samuel C. Johnson Family Outdoor Center.

2018-2019 Schedule

December 27, 2018 – 12:00 PM Samuel C. Johnson Family Outdoor Center, OO –  Goal Setting, and Making a Plan for the season. Technique video on double poling and V2.  Skaters bring your skate equipment and classic skiers bring your kickers. 

January 3, 2019 – 12:00 PM – Samuel C. Johnson Family Outdoor Center, OO – Think snow! Skate Technique How to fly and climb like a goat. V2 alternate and V1. Video feedback if weather allows.  Classic kick work drills.

January 10, 2019 – 12:00 PM North End Ski Trails – Classic Technique. Efficient diagonal stride and climbing hills.  Video feedback if weather allows.

January 17, 2019 – 12:00 PM SCJC – Skate and Classic Technique. Downhill speed, turns, and transitions. Using the tracks and knowing when to jump out. Video feedback.

January 24, 2019 – 12:00 PM North End Ski Trails – Skate and Classic Technique Knowing when to switch gears and how to feel the snow. Video feedback.

January 31, 2019 – 12:00 PM –  SCJC Skate and Classic Technique.  The finer points of elite technique adjustments

February 7, 2019- 12:00 PM North End Ski Trails
Race strategy, imagery, and enjoying the process. Skills review and video feedback.

The sessions will be movement oriented with very little standing. Fundamental skill development will be based on individual needs and goals established during the first meeting in December. All levels of skier are welcome. Meeting locations may be subject to change due to snow conditions and notifications will be via email.

Fees for all seven sessions will be $125.00 for non-club members and $100.00 for North End Ski Club members. All funds collected will directly support the North End Ski Club Trail Fund.
